CFSC and CRFSC courses in Halifax
Looking for a Canadian firearms safety course in or near Halifax? Compare schedules and course formats, then verify current details with the provider before you reserve a seat.
What to ask a Halifax course provider
- Is the instructor currently authorized to deliver the CFSC, CRFSC, or both in Nova Scotia?
- Which course dates are available, and how much classroom time and practical testing is included?
- What is included in the total price: testing, materials, tax, and any retest?
- What should a student bring, and what accessibility accommodations can the provider support?
Taking the course in Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia's CFSC and CRFSC courses must be delivered by an instructor with a current designation from the provincial Chief Firearms Officer. Confirm this directly before booking.
Nova Scotia's hunter education certificate is administered separately from the CFSC/CRFSC.
Testing follows the same national format used across Canada; course dates are generally more frequent in and around Halifax than in rural parts of the province.
Plan your licence application
Most first-time adult applicants complete approved safety training before sending their application to the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program. Course completion is not a guarantee of a licence; the RCMP assesses each application.
