Taking the course in Quebec
In Quebec, Chief Firearms Officer functions are carried out through the Sûreté du Québec. Quebec also requires non-restricted ('classic') firearms to be registered provincially, in addition to the federal licence — a requirement unique to Quebec that course completion does not cover.
Quebec's hunter safety certificate is a separate credential from the CFSC/CRFSC, administered independently.
Course delivery and written testing are commonly offered in French; some providers, especially around Montréal and Gatineau, also offer English-language sessions — confirm language when booking. The test format itself matches the national standard.
